What's up Frat?

My name is Lance Bilbrew and I was initiated at Kappa Alpha Sigma Chapter in Decatur, Georgia. You probably don't remember, but I had written to you once before late last year concerning my interest in Sigma. This may sound unbelieveable, but it was your website(The Zeta Phi Beta Sigma Times)that first sparked my interest in Sigma. I was at a school where the Sigmas were suspended indefinitely(they have since returned), so we had no knowledge or exposure of the organization. I first stumbled across the ZPBSTimes in Spring of 1997. That led to further research of the organization and its priniciples. I decided to act upon my interest and was finally able to join Sigma in Spring 1999. My interest in Sigma sparked my best friend's interest, and he was able to join Sigma back at school in Spring 1999, which was the first line after the chapter was reinstated.

I would like to once again thank you for your continuous work for Sigma and for providing an outlet for the Blue and White Family. BLUE PHI!!!!!

Hello, Frat,

First, I'd like to say...no, need to say..."MUCH LOVE AND RESPECT," in regards to not only the fact that you are my brother, but also in reference to the dynamic article you wrote for the ZPBS Times entitled We Are The REAL Sigmas! To put it plainly, kudos!!! I've heard that same argument time and time again, from Clark Atlanta University (Psi chapter, where I was made) to Florida State University (where I currently attend graduate school).

Secondly, your piece was eloquent and well designed...a piece of art. My B.A. is in Mass Media Arts with a concentration in Public Relations, so I tend to scrutinize writing quite often. I have to give it up to you. My Master's work is in Mass and Marketing Communication and Media Research, so I have the deepest respect for the research that you performed! Excellent!!!

I am the product of a genuine "old school" Sigma (1967) and Zeta (1967) union, so I have the benefit of first-hand experience often times when it comes to researching our history. Believe me, I use my parents' wisdom to my full advantage! So often, people take older frat and sorors for granted, but thank our Creator that I don't!

Anyway, I'm just dropping you a line to say, "Keep up the good work!" It is evident to me, and to everyone else who has read this article, that you have a deep love and true sense of what the family, and its business, is all about.

Yours in Sisterhood for LIFE,
Soror Joy Patricia Walker

Comments from fans and readers of the Times are ALWAYS welcomed

A word to everyone who writes me:

Out of the hundreds of e-mails I get each week, sometimes even I need a word of encouragement on the site. An e-mail from a neo or regular frat and sorors like the ones on this page do a lot to keep a brutha motivated to keep the site up. To everyone who's ever dropped me a line of praise and encouragement for the site- THANKS. I can't remember everyone, but I do appreciate everyone - especially all the neos that hit me up as soon as they cross! Thank you all for your comments and support! May God continue to bless and keep you!
